2nd T20I: Rishabh Pant messes it up yet again

XtraTime Web Desk: India’s young wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been under scanner for quite a long time for his poor batting, keeping. During the second T20I against Bangladesh at Rajkot he made another blunder in what was a great opportunity to dismiss Bangladesh opener Liton Das.

The incident happened in the sixth over of the match what was Yuzvendra Chahal’s first over of the match. After pushing two quick deliveries, Chahal made a mockery of Liton Das in the third delivery as he flighted the ball. Liton decided to dance down the track in an attempt to send it to the cleaners, however, the flight got the better of him and left him scratching outside the crease.

However, Pant made a mess of the stumping as he collected the ball before it had crossed the stumps. Even though Pant was quick to dislodge the bails, the third umpire, in slow-motion replays, came to the verdict that the Indian glovesman had collected the ball before it could pass the stumps.

He almost did the same thing on the 13th over of the game against Soumya Sarkar, but this he collected the ball just fraction of a second after it passed the stump and dislodged the bells after that. Third umpire Anil Chaudhary was happy with the take but there was some confusion in the middle as at first the third umpire showed it a not out and then changed the decision to out. Sarkar, who was waiting near the fence was confused by the incident but the fourth umpire conveyed the decision to Sarkar.
