Xtra Time Web Desk: An impactful debut from Ishan Kishan (56 off 32) and a masterful knock from Virat Kohli (73* off  49) guided India to a comprehensive 7 wickets win over England in the 2nd T20I at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. The Indian batsmen made the target of 165 look easy as they chased it with 13 balls to spare.

Ishan Kishan was the star of the match as he blazed his way into international cricket, registering the second-highest score by an Indian batsman on the T20 debut. Opening the innings in the chase to a target of 165, Kishan scored 56 off just 32 balls, smashing at 175.00. The left-handed batsman kicked off his innings with a boundary on the very first ball he faced.

Indian captain Virat Kohli too announced his coming back to form with a splendid 73 not out off 49 balls. Kohli’s knock was studded with five boundaries and three sixes while Kishan smashed five fours and 4 sixes in his debut knock. The left hander from Jharkhand hit two back-to-back sixes off Adil Rashid to complete his half-century off just 28 balls. By doing so, he became the second Indian batsman to breach the 50-run mark on his T20 debut. Ajinkya Rahane, who had made his T20 debut against England in 2011, was the only Indian batsman to breach the 50-run mark - he had scored 61.

He eventually got out leg before to Adil Rashid, trying an outrageous reverse sweep. Risabh Pant too played a cameo, scoring 26 runs off 13 balls that included two boundaries and sixes. Shreyas Iyer remained not out on 6 along with Kohli on 73*. The Indian captain hooked Chris Jordan over square leg to successfully take the team home.

Jason Roy once again top-scored for England with a 35-ball 46, following up on his knock of 49 in their win in the first match on Friday.

Put in to bat, the right-hander gave the touring side a steady start with a 63-run stand for the second wicket with Dawid Malan after the loss of opening partner Buttler to seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the first delivery he faced.

Roy hit four fours and two sixes in his knock before holing out in the deep off spinner Washington Sundar, who also sent back the dangerous Jonny Bairstow for 20.

Fast bowler Shardul Thakur pegged back England's hopes of a flourishing finish by dismissing opposition captain Eoin Morgan and Stokes as India conceded just 35 off the last five overs.

The five match series is now level at 1-1 with three more matches to come. The third match of the series will be played on Tuesday.
