Shai Hope and Keacy Carty were the heroes for the West Indies, putting on an unbeaten partnership of 91 runs after the team lost four early wickets. Kuldeep Yadav reignited hope for India by dismissing Shimron Hetmyer, but it was not enough to stop the determined West Indian batsmen.
Earlier, India, captained by Hardik Pandya in the absence of Rohit Sharma, got off to a strong start thanks to a riveting 90-run opening partnership between Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill. Kishan scored 55 runs, but the middle-order faltered, and regular wickets disrupted India’s innings.
