1st Test, Day 3: Old Trafford test poised for a tense finish with Pakistan having slight edge

XtraTime Web Desk: Two late strikes from England’s star all-rounder Ben Stokes helped England to drag them back in the game in the first Test against Pakistan at Old Trafford on Friday.

Pakistan, on top for most of this match, were 137-8 in their second innings at stumps on the third day — a lead of 244 runs.

Stokes, who didn’t bowl in the third Test against the West Indies at Old Trafford last month because of a quad injury, took 2-11 in 20 balls.

Brief Scores: Pakistan 326 & 137/8 (Asad Shafiq 29, Mohammad Rizwan 27; Chros Woakes 2-11, Ben Stokes 2-11, Stuart Broad 2-23) lead England 219 (Ollie Pope 62, Jos Buttler 38; Yasir Shah 4-66, Mohammad Abbas 2-33, Shadab Khan 2-13) by 244 runs.
