Image Source: twitter[/caption] Internet Desk: India have started brilliantly in the first Test, against the hosts Sri Lanka, as they reach 115/1 at Lunch on Day 1 at Galle International stadium, today. Opener Abhinav Mukund (12) who got his chance in the playing XI in place of KL Rahul, again failed to make any impact today as he nicked a ball of Nuwan Pradeep to the Lankan wicket-keeper Dickwella. Though another opener Shikhar Dhawan (64*) played brilliantly after the departure of Mukund and completed his half century. Shikhar hammered all the Sri Lankan bowlers through all parts of the ground as he hit eight boundaries till now. He got good support from his partner Cheteshwar Pujara who is at the crease on 37. Earlier, India skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Young all-rounder Hardik Pandya got his dreams fulfilled as he has debuted in white jersey for the side today and captain Kohli himself handed him the Test cap. Meanwhile Sri Lanka gets a huge blow today when their middle-order batsman Asela Gunaratne was ruled out of the ongoing first Test against India with a fractured left thumb. Gunaratne got the injury while fielding at the second slip today. He hurt his thumb while attempting to take a catch of India opener Shikhar Dhawan when he was batting on 31. Such was the severity of the injury that Gunaratne has been rushed to Colombo for an operation. Gunaratne's injury means Sri Lanka will bat with only 10 players in both their innings. Teams: Sri Lanka: Rangana Herath (c), Dimuth Karunaratne, Upul Tharanga, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Asela Gunaratne, Niroshan Dickwella, Dilruwan Perera, Suranga Lakmal and Nuwan Pradeep.
