Xtra Time Web Desk: Will Rafael Nadal take part in Wimbledon 2022? The Spanish tennis legend has started training on grass in Mallorca indicating that he has kept his hopes alive for the Wimbledon Championships.

Nadal had a light training session on the grass courts, raising hopes he could overcome his foot injury to play at Wimbledon. He performed some gentle physical activities during a short, closed session at Mallorca Country Club in Santa Ponca.

The French Open Champion has plans to intensify his training from Tuesday until the end of the week. The 36-year-old will then decide whether to play at Wimbledon, which starts on June 27, depending on how his foot responds.

Nadal played the final of French Open against Casper Ruud with an injection on his left foot. The winner of 22 Grand Slam Titles travelled to Barcelona last week to begin “pulsed radiofrequency stimulation”, a treatment aimed at reducing nerve pain.

“I will be there if my body allows it. Wimbledon is a priority, the Grand Slams are a priority,” Nadal said at Roland Garros.

Nadal has won Wimbledon twice, in 2008 and 2010.
