The Manipuri goalkeeper has been asked to attend trials at the Scottish club for a month and even train with the senior team. If everything falls in place, Dheeraj will the second goalkeeper from India after Subrata Paul to attend trials in an overseas club. India senior team goalkeeper Subrata Paul signed for Danish Superliga side FC Vestsjælland, but did not make any appearance for the first team. He appeared only with the reserve squad. As far as Dheeraj is concerned, he could be offered a long term contract if catches the eyes of the catches in the Scottish side. But the problem is Dheeraj will not be able to fly off top Scotland before his contract with AIFF terminates on December 31, 2017. He is expected to represent the Indian Arrows team in I League. It will be entirely on the Federation to decide whether to leave the 16 year old for trials abroad. According to his agent, Anuj Kichlu ,"The trials can happen just after the I-League concludes in March. We want him to play the entire season and then go to Scotland. Motherwell, if they are impressed, will only make an offer for next season,"
