XtraTime Web Desk - Bangladeshi cricketer Shakib Al Hasan faces a lot of heat and also death threats after attending a Kali puja inauguration in Kolkata.

Mohsin Talukdar took to this matter to social media and claimed that this behavior of Shakib had, “hurt the Muslim sentiments”. In a video, Mohsin also gave a death threat to Shakib saying, “I'll cut him to pieces with a chopper for blasphemy”.

Shakib was invited to be a guest of “Amra Sobai Club” at Kankurgachi. On Tuesday, in a YouTube video , Shakib denied the fact that he was there to inaugurate as he said, “Media, social media everywhere it was flooded that I went to Kolkata to inaugurate a puja ceremony which actually was not the reason behind my visit and I did not inaugurate puja”. After Mohsin's video went viral, the police have arrested him.

Shakib further added in the video, “The puja was inaugurated by Firhad Hakim, mayor of Kolkata. In my invitation card it was clearly mentioned that I was not the chief guest for puja. Being a practicing Muslim, I always try to follow the religious customs. Please forgive me if I have done anything wrong”.

Shakib Al Hasan's ban from international cricket was recently lifted on 29th of October 2020. However, the problems and controversies just doesn't seem to walk away from Shakib's life.
