Xtra Time Web Desk: Indian captain Virat Kohli and former England batsman Kevin Pietersen were seen having a debate over MS Dhoni’s first test wicket. In a live chat on instagram on Friday, Pietersen was seen referring to Virat that a lot of people told him that he was Dhoni’s first test wicket. But the TV umpire gave him not out after watching the replays. In his reply to KP, Virat said he did remember the incident but MS had a valid point as there was a clear sound that came up on the stump mic and nothing was evident from the hotspot. Obviously the South African born England cricketer did not like this reply from his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate and asked Virat to stop backing Dhoni. Dhoni and Pietersen’s banter on whether the England player was his first Test wicket goes back to 2011. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VSTUK3n5wc   It was during a test match at Lords on July 21, 2011. Zaheer got injured and so Dhoni decided to role his arms. Nine balls into his spell Dhoni almost got a nick from KP’s bat and on field umpire Billy Bowden gave him out. However, Pietersen reviewed it and the decision was overruled. This incident was once again brought up in April 2017 during an IPL match between Rising Pune Supergiants vs Mumbai Indians. This time Pietersen was inside the commentary box talking to Manoj Tiwary who was fielding at slips. KP told Tiwary to go and tell MS Dhoni that he (Pietersen) is a better golfer than him. Tiwary did it the next ball to which Dhoni responded saying, “He’s still my 1st test wicket.”

Seems like this story will continue to weave on for a long time.
