Kolkata: The Bengal cricket team led by Sudip Chatterjee started their journey in the invitational KSCA tournament against KSCA colts as they reach 305/4 at the end of day 1.

Skipper Sudip Chatterjee (110*) and Purab Joshi (122) were the star of their side. They added 219 runs for the third wicket to put their team in a commanding position. Though the Bengal team management is unhappy with the dismissal of Abhimanyu Easwaran as they think the umpire had given a wrong LBW decision, the ball was hitting the fifth stump according to the side.

Sudip was very happy that he has scored a ton in the first match of the season,” We have played really well today and tomorrow the team needs to do the same as we have to put more runs on the board tomorrow.”

“This century will give me a lot of confidence for the upcoming matches. I am trying to score as many runs that I get before leaving for the India A tour,” Sudip said.

Sudip hasn’t met with India A coach and legendary batsman Rahul Dravid. On being asked whether he wants to take any tips from Dravid when he will meet him, he said,” After watching my batting if he gives me any tips I will definitely listen to it.”

Sudip also lauded VVS Laxman who helped him to improve his play,” He shared his thoughts with me regarding the wickets of South Africa as you know that there will be a lot of bounce on the pitch and his suggestions means a lot to me,” concluded Sudip.
