Kolkata: In the era when many footballers are all about the bling and flashy things in life, Indian National Team forward CK Vineeth is cut from another cloth. The highly talented attacker from Kerala, who had a magnificent previous season has been seen farming on the field to help his dad. In an interaction with www.xtratime.in correspondent Suman Chakravorty, Vineeth shared all the struggles, dreams, passion he has which developed him to the star he is at the moment. Here is what the conversation he had with XtraTime,

XT: Vineeth, you are seen farming on the field in a picture. Despite being such a big star in Indian football these days, what motivated you to do that?

Vineeth: Well, this is what I feel everyone should do to show the respect towards such special and hardworking professions. It was rather a message to all of them who works so hard to help the society to stay in comfort. My respect goes to them.

XT: You had a memorable last season, as you have given so much to the fans and your teams to cheer for. As a professional, how has been the journey?

Vineeth: My journey was tough. There has been a lot of hard work and struggle on my path. But I have always been honest about my game, my career. Last season was indeed very satisfying and I want to keep improving in the forthcoming seasons.

XT: Bengaluru FC has given a rebirth to your playing career. Unfortunately, you have to play for a different franchise or club in the next season, as they have already declared the players they are retaining. Feeling emotional?

Vineeth: As a professional, no, I’m not at all emotional as they too had limited choices. They could retain only two players and they have retained the present and future of Indian football, who are Sunil Chhetri and Udanta Singh. The years I played for BFC will remain in my heart throughout my life. But this is how life goes on. All I can say is that, I’m a professional and wherever I will play, I will give my best to help my team.

XT: Between I-League and ISL, where do you want to play?

Vineeth: Well, this is a matter which my manager and agent decide. Lets see where do I sign.

XT: If an I-League club comes up with a better offer compare to the ISL, what would be your choice then?

Vineeth: To be honest, ISL is my preference. I love both Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters. So lets see what happens.

XT: So you are joining Kerala Blasters, right?

Vineeth: Lets see (Smiles).

XT: What does football has actually taught you, if you analyze your career?

Vineeth: All I have today, is because of this game. My job, my fame everything has been because of this game and this gives me the courage to work even harder
