“I have some friend who played in India and as soon as I asked them about Mohun Bagan they replied this is the biggest club of India and that’s what made me come here. I always wanted to be a part of a successful team. Mohun Bagan was very much successful in recent past. Last year maybe they didn’t get the results they wanted, but I am hopeful that the team will do well this year”.

Ferraira who has a good relation with Ashley Westwood revealed that Westwood has helped him come and sign for the club.

A former player of FC Porto said he was a part of the youth setup when Porto won the prestigious UEFA Champions League under the charge of Jose Mourinho. Few players who caught the eye of Ferreira at that time was Deco and Ricardo Quaresma.

On being questioned about his football idol, Ferraira said, “Luis Figo has been my idol from childhood, though we are different players but I like him”.

The Defensive midfielder who can also play as a centre back has played for the national squad and wants to bring his experience in his game at the current club.

The star foreigner would be leaving for his country today and will join the squad on October 1.

Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen claimed that he has seen the player on social media and after putting forward his name to the Club officials.

“I am very happy that the officials have signed this player” he added.
