Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India’s dependable batsman Cheteshwar Pujara is practicing hitting sixes during training at the Chennai Super Kings nets ahead of the Indian Premier League 2021 season. In a bid to prepare himself well for the cash rich league, the test match specialist is spending time hitting sixes at CSK nets. The 33 year old cricketer from Sourashtra, who was bought by the Chennai Super Kings at a base price of 50 lakhs is making a valiant effort to match the power hitters of the game.

Known for his defensive techniques in the longest format, Pujara is working on a new skill to switch to the shortest format. The right-handed-batsman in a recent interview revealed that he is looking forward to hitting the ball out of the park in IPL 2021.

“Hitting the ball out of the park is a shot needed in the shorter formats and I am working on it for sure,” Cheteshwar Pujara told in an interview to Cricbuzz.

The 33-year-old had played his last IPL match for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2014. He has scored just 390 runs in 30 matches, something that he needs to change in the IPL 2021.

MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL 2021 campaign against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede on April 10.
