Virat Kohli on the verge of breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record in Australia

XtraTime Web Desk: The Indian cricket team will definitely be favourites to win the Test series in Australia for their experienced batting order. Though India has a lot of batsmen but the key will always be the skipper Virat Kohli.

Kohli has been in the form of his life in the longer format of the game in all conditions. He has scored centuries in South Africa and England with an ease. Now as far in Australia Kohli had a great record so far and when he will step his foot in Adelaide to play the first test match it will be a great chance for him to bypass legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for the most number of tons in Australia.

The run machine has five centuries so far on the land of Don Bradman and he is just a century behind Sachin. In his last tour Virat hit four tons and considering his current form he should easily break Sachin’s record as well.

Tendulkar has scored 1809 runs in 20 Tests at an average of 53.20. Kohli, on the other hand, has scored 992 runs in 8 matches against Australia an average of 62.

Though Kohli would have to do a lot of work as he will have to face the fiery pace trio of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Josh Hazlewood. The three bowlers tormented England in the Ashes last season and have the ability to run through batting orders and the Indian side should be wary of the threat.
