He was the best CDM in the World Cup and became very critical for his team ever since. However, today as he scored the winner for France, the world saw the offensive ability of N'Golo Kante.

This was his second International goal as the World Cup winners, France defeated the European Champions, Portugal by 1-0. Kante scored the only goal of the match from a rebound in the 53rd minute. With this win, France clinched the top spot ahead of the final round matches.

France however qualified for the finals as they have a better head-to-head record than the other teams. France is the only team who are advanced for the finals as of now.

Didier Deschamps' was delighted with this team's victory. Speaking to TF1, Deschamps said, “It's very nice to see them snatch the win. It's deserved. Some aren't in the best situations at their club but when they get together there is this competitive spirit. In other matches of UEFA Nations League, Germany beat Ukraine 3-1 as Timo Werner scored a brace and Leroy Sane scored a goal. Sweden beat Croatia by 2-1 and Spain drew 1-1 with Switzerland as Sergio Ramos missed 2 penalties in the match.
