XtraTime Web Desk: After a dramatic turnaround, I-League’s one of the brightest Indian performers of the previous season, I-League winning Chennai City FC midfielder Alexander Romario Jesuraj signs for ISL side Alexander Romario Jesuraj after the player was announced to be joining Mohun Bagan this morning with the information to join the Mariners squad on Wednesday in the preseason camp at Goa.

Taking everyone into surprise, they deleted the tweet in few minutes time from all the social media handles. Right when everybody was wandering for the reason, Chennai City took their Twitter handle to wish the player all the luck for the next season at FC Goa.

Playing on the right flank, Jesuraj was part of an attacking quartet that included the Spanish trio of Nestor Gordillo, Sandro Rodriguez and Pedro Manzi.

Under the Singaporean coach Akbar Nawas, the four players formed an integral part of the side, scoring 40 goals between themselves and helping the Tamil Nadu side win their maiden I-League title in only their third year of existence in Indian top-flight football.

Hailing from Dindigul, Jesuraj has earlier represented India in the U-13 category, while breaking into the Tamil Nadu U-16 team at the age of 13 itself.
