Internet Desk: Hosts West Indies were overpowered by a dazzling unbeaten century from India captain Virat Kohli, as they slumped to another series defeat with a heavy eight-wicket loss in the decisive fifth One-Day International on Thursday.

Kohli played a destructive knock of 111 runs from just 115 deliveries to take his team over the line. After scoring his 28th ODI ton, the Indian captain couldn’t hold on to his emotions and expressed his outburst of feelings by showing his bat towards the dressing room. Virat was under enormous pressure on and off the field and the hundred was just a blessing in disguise for him. In the third and fourth ODI the India skipper failed to score big runs as he was dismissed by the Windies skipper Jason Holder both the times off short deliveries. If the Men in Blue would have lost the final ODI against the host last night, Virat would have become the culprit as the team is playing the series without any coach after Anil Kumble stepped down from his post at the end of the ICC Champions Trophy. Had India lost to the minnow, the cricket pundits too would have started criticizing by pointing their fingers towards Kohli’s ego.

There are speculations that former team director Ravi Shastri is the front runner to become the next India coach as he has a good relationship with skipper Virat Kohli. Though everybody started claiming that Kohli is pretending to be the boss of Indian cricket, but a captain’s knock from Kohli has finally managed to shut the mouth of his critics.
