In the 1st week of May, the officials of both the respective teams have decided to sit together to decide their fate on the ISL. “On 3rd May we are going to meet with AIFF President Praful Patel”, said Mohun Bagan Secretary Anjan Mitra. On Wednesday at a prestigious club of the city, the representatives of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan sat down to talk with the IFA chiefs on the topic of I-League and ISL being merged together to a single league. Representing the Red and Yellow brigade were Club President Dr. Pranab Dasgupta, Secretary Kalyan Majumdar and Officials Debebrata Sarkar and Amit Sen. The Green and Maroon side was represented by Secretary Anjan Mitra and Officials Srinjoy Bose and Debasish Dutta. Other important delegates were IFA President and AIFF senior Vice President Subrata Dutta and IFA Secretary Utpal Ganguly. “As of now we have decided to play under certain conditions”, said East Bengal Sponsor Official Amit Sen. Earlier regarding the merging of the both the leagues, IMGR-Reliance had sent a draft containing the terms for the upcoming league. However both the teams had many objections. Those objections were the primary point of discussion for today’s meeting. Subrata Dutta brought up those objections to IMGR for consideration. Both the clubs had many objections to play this merged league, however few of those objections had been agreed by IMGR. As per IMGR, a contract for 15 years was supposed to be signed which turned out to be a major objection for both the teams hailing from the City of Joy. However both the parties have negotiated to sign a contract of 5 years which has been ultimately agreed by IMGR. Apart from this, IMGR had made it certain that only the sponsors would make the jerseys, recreate the team Logo and also alter the team name. This was highly criticized and objected by both the sides. Ultimately IMGR agreed that the names, logos and jersey will remain unchanged. Apart from these, there were however many objections that were raised from both the sides like the 15CR entry fee will not be paid by both the clubs. They have also decided that they won’t play outside the city. Both the respective club representatives will now discuss the above situations with their respective club officials and will then decide on what to do next and bring up their concern to AIFF. As of now, with the AIFF on their side both the Kolkata teams will discuss these problems with IMGR in the upcoming month. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqob7JgsHfo&feature=youtu.be
