Image source: twicopy.com[/caption] Kolkata: Tarak Sinha is one of the most eminent, most successful and the least celebrated coach of India. His club has produced 11 India cricketers, starting with Surinder Khanna, who made his ODI debut for India in 1979, all the way to current India opener Shikhar Dhawan. Sinha is also the coach of the upcoming superstar cricketer Rishab Pant. Tarak Sinha had a conversation with xtratime.in over the telephone from Delhi. Mr. Sinha thinks that Rishab’s innings against Gujarat Lions yesterday was one of the best innings of his career, along with his brilliant innings at the U-19 World Cup. According to his coach, Rishab got a chance and he proved his worth by playing a superb innings. He will have to continue talking these chances and perform accordingly. He will have to play even better and can become an asset for Delhi if his batting position is moved above in the order. In a 20 over game, he usually bats at the fifth or sixth position and hardly gets to play five overs. If he gets a chance to open the batting he can score many runs. Apart from having a brilliant hand-to-eye combination he also has a good hitting capability. He also has a good quality of judging each delivery. “We call him as the left-handed Sehwag here in our club” said Mr. Sinha. Equivalent to Sehwag, both of them have similar playing style but Pant still needs to improve and refine his game. As for example Rishab plays exceedingly well in the on-side, similarly he will have to improve game in the off-side. The coach says Rishab has improved his wicket-keeping as well as his batting but there is always room for perfection. Sinha is confident he will Rishab will improve his playing style as he gains more confidence. “Not only playing well in the T-20 format, the left handed batsman will have to equally perform well in the ODI games and in the Test matches” said Sinha.
