Mohun Bagan thumbs Lajong to go into the Semi Final of Hero super Cup

XtraTime News Desk: Mohun Bagan beat Shillong Lajong F.C. in the Quarter Final match of Hero Super Cup by 3-1. The Kolkata giant will face the winner of the Quarter Final match between Bengaluru FC and Neroca Fc in the Semi Final. Sheikh Faiyaz got the hero of the match award.

Faiyaz scored the first goal for Maroon and green in the 12 th minute of the match. Dipanada Dicka’s pass went to Faiyaz who failed to take full control of the ball but his perfect side volley went to goal.  Nikhil Kadam doubled the goal tally with a brilliant shot Lajong goalkeeper was not in a good position to save the shot. The ball hit to the cross bar went in the goal.

Lajong got a penalty as Kingshuk Debnath trapped a Lajong player inside the box and awarded the penalty. Samuels spot kick saved by Shilton but Koffi headed a goal in the 28 th minute and Mohun Bagan defense had no answer.

Bagan extended the lead in the 59 th minute as Arijit Bagui sent a center to the box Akram Mograbi went for a head but Lajong defender Laurence Doe sent the ball to his own net.
