Xtra Time Web Desk : India Captain Sunil Chhetri’s wife, Sonam, has been diagnosed with dengue. She is currently admitted to a private hospital in Bangalore. It’s been reported that Sonam’s oxygen saturation levels had dropped significantly.
However, there’s good news as Sonam is doing well currently. Sunil’s father and former Indian defender, Subrata Bhattacharya, was concerned by this news. Nevertheless, Sunil Chhetri is by his wife’s side.
During the recent Intercontinental Cup, Sunil had scored a goal against Vanuatu and dedicated it to his wife’s pregnancy. He has also provided updates about Sonam during the Mohan Bagan Day celebrations.
Due to this situation, Sunil is not playing for Bengaluru FC in the ongoing Durand Cup. However, he will lead the team in the upcoming Asian Games. But he won’t be participating in the upcoming Kings Cup as they are expecting the birth of their child around that time.
