Sri Lankan debutant all-rounder writes his name on the history books

Internet Desk: Young Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanidu Hasaranga wrote his name on the history books as he took a hat-trick during on his debut for the Lankan’s. He became the third cricketer to do so as the hosts bowled out Zimbabwe for just 155 in the second ODI at Galle today.

Before him, Bangladesh’s Taijul Islam and South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada had achieved the feat in their debut.

The hosts made some changes in the playing XI after the first match where Zimbabwe thumped them to take a 1-0 lead. Hasaranga came in the squad in place of Lahiru Madushanka and bowled a dream spell to take a hat-trick.

The youngster capitalized his chance and took 3 wickets for 15 runs in just 2.4 overs to leave the cricketing world stunned.

Hasaranga took the wickets of Malcolm Waller, Donald Tiripano and Tendai Chatara in consecutive three deliveries to break Zimbabwe’s batting line-up.

Meanwhile, left-arm china-man Lakshan Sandakan was the chief perpetrator for Sri Lanka as he ended the innings with impressive figures of 4/52 in 10 overs.
