Kolkata:
The wait is over. Haitian superstar Sony Norde decides the club he will join in the next season. The Mohun Bagan fans might get delighted to know the fact that their officials perhaps done something which no other I-League club officials have done this season. Despite lucrative offers from two ISL franchises, Mohun Bagan officials have finally snatched their target man from all the interested clubs in India. According to sources close to the club and also Sony Norde, it is learnt that both the parties have finally come to an agreement on the personal terms, that the player, who has been an instrumental figure for Mohun Bagan’s success in the last few seasons, will play for Mohun Bagan only.

Sony reportedly had some personal fight with his former ISL franchise Mumbai City FC Head Coach Alexandre Guimarães and thus was reluctant to sign for them despite the strong interest from the club. Later, new ISL franchise Jamshedpur FC showed a lot of interest and ‘almost’ signed him for the next season. Then came the Mohun Bagan officials. Their efficiency and desperation forced Sony to think in a different way. In the end, he has verbally agreed to sign for the Green and Maroon brigade. The club sources told www.xtratime.in, that the move is now a subject to a medical and paper work.

No doubt, this has indeed been a huge success for the Bagan officials off the field and could turn out to be a master-stroke for the forthcoming season.
