Six East Bengal Footballers Fined Rs.5000 Each

Image Source: File Pic[/caption] Kolkata: East Bengal coach Biswajit Bhattacharya fined Rs 5000 each on six footballers for joining late in the practice. East Bengal resumed their training after a one week rest from Monday. Earlier, coach Biswajit Bhattacharya informed all his footballers that they will have to join training from the very first day of resumption otherwise they will be fined. On Tuesday, all of the remaining players joined training. The other six players who were absent on Monday's practice were fined a Rs 5000 each leaving Sanju Pradhan who informed coach that he will go for a doctor’s visit. The six footballers fined are: Bernard Mendy, Ranti Martins, Joaquim Abranches, Luis Barreto, Bello Rasaq and Saumik Dey. Bernard Mendy landed on Tuesday morning and directly went to the club tent for training. But, East Bengal training had already begun and was in full-flow. Mendy said "Hi" to coach Biswajit but the gaffer did not reply and asked him to sit outside. Mendy waited for 15 minutes and then left the club. Meanwhile, Tuesday was the 15th death anniversary of Late Paltu Das, East Bengal's former Secretary. Due to this occasion, East Bengal coach called for a training session at the club tent. Former Indian striker Shyam Thapa was also present in the East Bengal club today.
