Shakib Al Hasan likely to be available in the game against India | INDvsBAN

Xtra Time Web Desk: In what comes as a huge boost for Bangladesh ahead of Thursday’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 game against India, captain Shakib al Hasan batted for about 30 minutes at the Maharashtra Cricket Association stadium. The all-rounder suffered a quad tear in the game against New Zealand. He will undergo another scan before the game against India.

Shakib had to be taken to hospital for a scan right after he finished his quota of overs in the game against BlackCaps in Chennai. He was back training with the Bangladesh team on Tuesday. Apart from batting, he was also indulged in a bit of football, but soon left. He was later seen walking alongside Litton Das to have a net session. He began by facing underarm throws from Faisal Hossain, who is assisting fielding coach Shane McDermott at the World Cup.

The Bangladesh captain batted against the spinners and pacers as well. Though Shakib didn’t bowl during the practice session, he ran between the wickets under the observation of physio Bayzid Ul Islam and completed the session without any trouble.
