Serie A: Juventus stunned by AC Milan, still maintain seven points lead on top

XtraTime Web Desk: Juventus squandered a golden opportunity to take a giant step towards their ninth successive Serie A title as they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of AC Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday night. The side from Turin let slip a two goal advantage as they lost 2-4 to Milan. Maurizio Sarri’s side is now on 75 points from 31 games, seven ahead of second placed Lazio who also suffered a loss against Lecce.


AC Milan took the lead through Adrian Rabiot in the 47th minute with his curling strike into the top right corner. Cristiano Ronaldo doubled the lead for Juventus in the 53rd minute. However, Milan turned the match around completely in the space of five minutes. Ibrahimovic converted a penalty in the 62nd minute following a handball from Leonardo Bonucci before two quickfire goals from Franck Kessi (66’) and substitute Rafael Leo (67’). Ante Rebic scored the fourth goal with 10 minutes remaining.


In another Serie A fixture on Tuesday night Lazio too suffered a shock defeat (1-2) against Lecce. Lazio took an early lead through F Caicedo (5’). K Babacar equalized for the hosts in the 30th minute while F Lucioni scored the all important lead in the 47’. It was the second consecutive defeat for Lazio.
