Kolkata: Virender Sehwag is never short of energy even after leaving the game. Viru had the Cricket Association of Bengal officials dumbstruck as he decided to play a game of dart in the club house. And he had his former team mate Zaheer Khan joining him. Both of them decided to entertain themselves as a smart shower put a pause to an intriguing second day’s play.

There‘s always something Sehwag is up to. He didn’t dare murmuring a Kishore Kumar number while facing the likes of Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar. Viru always had this knack of entertaining others with his batting or without the willow. He was always liked for his carefree attitude that kept his teammates tension free in the dressing room.

In city as part of the commentary team, both of them enjoyed a game of dart as part of Star Sports’ programme “Out of the Box”.

After an initial banter over a toss of coin as to who would shoot first, Sehwag allowed Zaheer to start the proceedings. Both had six darts to throw in each round, for three rounds to decide on the winner. The first game was a tight one which Zaheer won with one strike in the green zone. The second game saw Sehwag win outright hitting the bull’s eye. The third had Zaheer strike rich form as he managed to pull off a winner with his fourth arrow.

The banter continued even after the match, when Sehwag said: “I had won, but the decision has gone against me and Zaheer was declared winner.” However, there was no third umpire available, so the verdict remained unaltered.

The Nawab of Najafgarh was the toast of the Talk Show hosted by Cricket Association of Bengal on Friday. With the test match heading for an early finish, we can expect some more fireworks from Viru outside the Eden turf.
