XtraTime Web Desk - A very important win for SC East Bengal as they beat their longtime rival Bengaluru FC 1-0, who now lost 4 consecutive times.

Just like SC East Bengal, Bengaluru needed this win. After losing the last game, their coach Carlos Cuadrat left the club and things were not looking good for the south Indian club.

The match started slow but both the teams picked up pretty quickly. Gurpreet denied SC East Bengal couple of times before they finally found the goal in the 20th minute. Bengaluru did some attacks as well but couldn't do anything special from those chances. Matti Steinmann put Bengal Brigade ahead after the German placed the ball beautifully from a Narayan Das cross.

SC East Bengal kept the pressure on Bengaluru's defence even after the goal. In the 27th minute, Narayan Das missed an easy opportunity which could've given SC East Bengal a two goal cushion. Debjit was once again having a good game as he looked unbeatable. All of Bengaluru's attack were well dealt by SC East Bengal as the first half came to an end.

Both the teams played similar style of football in the second half. One thing that made SC East Bengal a very dangerous team in the last few matches is their attacking football. Attack is the best form of defence, SC East Bengal is proving that. Debjit Majumder's brilliance under the bar is complementing their strategy.

Bengaluru started well in the second half but it was again Debjit who denied them. Their new signee, Ankit Mukherjee was excellent for them in the match and his work-rate throughout the match was impressive. Bengaluru created many chances to come into level terms but all their attack ended in Debjit's hands. Not just Debjit, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu denied Bright Enobakhare twice by making two brilliant saves. Bengaluru tried to control the match in the dying minutes but SC East Bengal players were ready and had all the answers. Thus, the match ended 1-0 in favour of the red and gold brigade.

SC East Bengal are 9th in the table and has 10 points from 10 games while Bengaluru has 12 points from 10 games and are 6th in the table.
