Internet Desk : The Supreme Court wants the BCCI  to follow the recommendations of the Lodha Committee and has asked the board to respond by March 3 to the report of Lodha committee suggesting major changes in the BCCI and state associations.

“We will give a very simple and straight solution. We will simply accept all recommendations of Justice Lodha.” The Chief justice of the Supreme Court revealed from his observation.

“We will hear BCCI only if there is something essential that deviates from what is expected,”T.S. Thakur added in his observation.

The apex court-appointed Justice Lodha panel, which had suggested the suspension of Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years from participating in IPL, submitted its report on January 4, 2016.

The three-member panel while recommending reforms in controversial BCCI had suggested a bar on ministers from occupying positions, putting a cap on the age and tenure of the office-bearers and legalising betting.

The panel had also suggested that one unit should represent one state, while taking away the voting rights of institutional and city-based units. The committee had recommended restructuring of the BCCI’s administrative set-up, proposing the position of a CEO accountable to a nine-member apex council.
