XtraTime Web Desk - First win of the season, first win of ISL and lot many firsts as SC East Bengal beat Odisha FC by 3-1.

With few releases and some new signings, SC East Bengal wanted to start fresh in the new year and so did they. SC East Bengal played some offensive football right from the start. Probably Fowler had a game plan to scoring an early goal. Whether they had such strategy or not docent matter. SC East Bengal did pick up an early goal as Anthony Pilkinton scored from a long throw by the new signee Raju Gaikwad. Intentions were clear for SC East Bengal.

Odisha tried to retaliate quickly but Debjit Majumder denied them. After a lot of battle in the middle, SC East Bengal picked up their 2nd goal as Maghoma scored his third goal of the season. SC East Bengal were two goal up and were already looking favorites to win the match. The half ended 2-0 in favour of the red and gold brigade.

Odisha FC failed to capitalize their chances. Either they lost it in the final third or Debjit Majumder stepped up brilliantly. When it was almost clear that SC East Bengal is going to register their first win with a 2-0 win over Odisha, Bright Enobakhare scored on his debut match and made it 3-0 for SC East Bengal. They however couldn't end the match with a clean sheet. Daniel Fox scored an own goal.

With the win, SC East Bengal are slightly ahead of Odisha FC in the points table. They have 6 points from 8 games but are still 10th in the table while Odisha remains in 11th spot with 2 points from 8 games.
