Santosh Trophy: IFA announces a strong West Bengal team

Kolkata: The IFA announces the West Bengal team of twenty members for the 71st edition of Santosh Trophy. Led by Coach Mridul Kanti Banerjee, the team looks really good on paper, featuring players like Prohlad Roy, Jiten Murmu, Manvir Singh, Mumtaz Akhter, Samad Ali Mullick, Rana Gharami and some other quality youngsters.

Coach Mridul Kanti Banerjee also wanted the service of veteran goalkeeper Sandip Nandy, but the former India goalkeeper pulled himself out from the selection as he informed the coach that the young boys should get their opportunities.

The twenty men West Bengal team announced for the Santosh Trophy is,

Sankar Roy (GK), Ankur Das, Ranit Majumdar, Ankit Mukherjee, Santu Singh, Suman Hazra, Samad Ali Mallick, Rana Gharami, Pravat Lakra, Monotosh Chakladar, Sourav Das Gupta, Sannik Murmu, Shaikhom Ronald Singh, Bishal Pradhan, Debashis Pradhan, Pralhad Roy, Mumtaz Akthar, M.Basant Singh, Jiten Murmu, Manvir Singh.
