Sandesh Jhingan likely to quit ATK Mohun Bagan for this reason

Xtra Time Web Desk: ATK Mohun Bagan’s Sandesh Jhingan is mulling the option of quitting the Mariners to try his luck in Europe. According to a report in Times of India, the Indian defender is seeking a new challenge. The star defender has offers from Austria, Croatia and Greece.

The 28-year-old defender always wanted to test himself in Europe. According to his contract with ATK Mohun Bagan, it has a clause that allows the footballer to make a move, if a foreign club comes calling.
Currently the Mariners are preparing themselves ahead of the AFC Cup matches and Jhingan’s conspicuous absence has led to the speculation.

Jhingan, who was recently voted as the AIFF Player of the Year award has come a long way in cementing his place in the national side. He played a very important role last season for ATK Mohun Bagan in the Indian Super League (ISL 2020) helping the team reach the final.

There is no official update from ATK Mohun Bagan on Sanjesh Jhingan, whether he will stay with the club for ISL or will be allowed to try his luck in Europe. It will no doubt be a major blow for the Mariners if Jhingan does make a move to Europe.
