Internet Desk: The much anticipated biopic on cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is all set for grand premier on Friday May,26. The who’s who of the country gathered under one roof to watch the special screening of ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ yesterday.

A galaxy of Bollywood stars along with the entire Indian cricket team attended the event, along with Tendulkar’s close friends and family members. This is what they said after watching the bio-pic.

Paras Mhambrey:

“I was very excited about the movie. As a friend I too was a part of his journey. It feels like in those two hours of the film we relived our whole journey together. We have been friends for a long time and played have together many times. After our retirement, we meet each other at regular intervals. That’s why the bond between us is very strong.”

“First of all, I think the movie has been brilliantly made. To cover such a long journey was very tough for the makers. They had to cover 24 years of a long journey in just 2.5 hours was really challenging and what they have done is highly commendable and I am very happy with the outcome. More or less we all know a lot of things about Sachin but to relieve all those things in two and half hours was a treat to watch”

Atul Ranade:

“We met together after a long time and I am very happy that I had a chance to be a part of this grand occasion. He (Sachin) was in shock after the match fixing incident. He became the only player to be selected as an Indian captain. In his first phase of captaincy he was removed from his post all of a sudden by the selectors. Later they made him captain again without informing him anything. But he fought against all those odds and became the best in the world. As a friend of Sachin it was a treat to experience his journey in the movie.”

Samir Dighe:

“We enjoyed each and every moment of the movie. The makers have worked really hard in last three or four years. The fans will get to know all about Sachin’s ups and downs in the movie.”

Sairaj Bahutule:

“Special credit should go to the makers of the film. All the highs and lows of his life have been portrayed well in the film. Be it his family or friends, matches or practices, all aspects of his life have been displayed really well.”

“I can’t pinpoint any particular favourites, but I liked every bit of it, from the time he started his career in the cricketing world, his rigourous hours of hard work, the drawbacks that he faced on his path to success which included the death of his father, Greg Chappell’s part in his life, his captaincy and all other ups and downs that he faced in his career, the way he made a comeback to how his body eventually started taking a toll on his game.”

“A lot of research has gone into the making of this film. The injuries on his elbows, ankle, toes, and many other parts were hurting, how he became fit again and started practicing; everything has been explained very minutely.”

Pappu Sansgiri:

“It was a bio documentary and his matches, practices, his dream to win the World Cup, his feelings when he was dropped from the captaincy were depicted well in the movie.”

When he lost the World Cup, he didn’t go out for 7 days; eventually he decided to fight back. His brother too talked him out of his depression and helped him to come out of his shell and inspired him to try and win the next World Cup”

“The film goes very fast”

“His private life has been shown as well, how he met Anjali, fell in love, his relationship with his son. The videos shown are also very interesting”

“What surprised me was the fact that Sachin was afraid of his elder brother. Sachin is the most sobre guy I have ever seen.”
