Image Source: XtraTime[/caption] Internet Desk: Legendary Cricketer and Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar like many other cricketers again proved how superstitious cricketers are while playing the game. Sachin today at a press conference of Kolkata Marathon organized by an insurance company became nostalgic about a lucky mongoose which entered the Eden Gardens during the 1993 Hero Cup Semifinal which he still considers helped India win the match. Sachin said," I don't know how many of you have noticed this but because it was the first day and night match, there was a mongoose which kept coming in the second half of the match and whenever it came we got wickets I was waiting for mongoose to keep motoring, the match got rather close. I needed up bowling the last over and we won the match." Sachin became nostalgic when he saw the entire stadium was lit with torches by thousands of spectators after the win. "This was truly out of this world experience, they stay with you rest of life. Kolkata is also known to the cricketers jokingly pehle do wicket lelo, baki ke 8 wickets crowd le leta hai (Take two wickets first the rest 8 wickets will be taken by the crowd). I was looking for it. but was too tense to see it till the end." Sachin said. There are still some more memories of Kolkata with Sachin and he reiterated, "So many memories when it comes to Kolkata. The first big moment for me was when we played South Africa, the kind of reception they got was incredible, not just inside the stadium but the moment they landed in the airport to the hotel, both sides of roads people cheering them. I spoke to Jonty Rhodes, like Clive Rice (double my age) when I met him he still remembered that series." Sachin who being one of the best batsman ever also revealed his wish to become a fast bowler during his early years.Sachin said,"I also wanted to bowl fast, but which never could and also went to the MRF Pace foundation for it." Sachin who is also the face of the Marathon in Kolkata tomorrow stressed on staying fit to have a healthy life and praised the current Indian cricket teams fitness and said,"Our fitness routine has increased, there is more awareness now than before, eventually those things add value, it reflects you got one of the best fielding side int the world. The cricketers are mentally attacking even while fielding. Not only there body the mind is moving in the same direction as well, that happens with practice. nothing happens without practice. It's evident they are practicing hard and are conscious of their fitness. newer things are being discovered. Cricketers may do things differently 15-20 years from now and that's progression. it's a joy to watch them. IDBI Federal Life Full Marathon will commence from 5am on 29th January which will be flagged off by Sachin from Red Road Kolkata. Regarding the race he said,"Kolkata has a glorious past and is a city with a soul. I am sure Kolkatans who are passionate and proud about their culture are excited about joining the ever-growing health and fitness revolution of the country. I wish all participants the very best as they take to the streets and give everything to this footrace." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDUbwfSTdK0
