Virat and Rohit buy teams in Pro Wrestling League

Virat-with-RohitNew Delhi , December 09 : Indian cricketers Virat Kohli and  Rohit  Sharma owned a team in the inaugural  Pro Wrestling League which starts at New Delhi’s KD Jadhav stadium .  The league will feature  six-city based teams .

The semifinals will be held on December 25 and 26. The final will be played on December 27. While Indian captain brought stakes in Bengaluru Yodhas , Rohit Sharma associated himself with UP Warriors .

JSW which also owns the Bengaluru FC football team has a majority stake in the Franchise. The team will be coached by Dhyan Chand awardee Kuldeep Malik and will be captained by the Commonwealth Games gold medalist Narsingh Yadav. Commenting on this move, Vishal Gurnani, Director ProSportify said, ” Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are the most appreciated cricketers in India today. We excitedly welcome them on board as one of the co-owners for the team  Bengaluru Yodhas and UP  Warriors respectively . We look forward for a fruitful & long lasting association with Virat and Rohit.”

 

Speaking about the association, Rohit said, “India has had a long and proud history with wrestling. I am proud to come on board as one of the Co-Owners of the UP Warriors team at the Pro Wrestling League. Our team has the best line-up of wrestlers including India’s most celebrated wrestler Sushil Kumar. We look forward to making it to the top of the league for the first season of the PWL.”

The Pro Wrestling League (PWL)   is the brainchild of ProSportify and Wrestling Federation Of India. It is going to be the biggest wrestling event ever.The League will consist of six teams. Each team will have 9 players- 5 Indians and 4 foreign. Six tyeams of the leagues are-
