Coming back after two months following his wrist injuries Nadal thinks that it will not be easy for him to reach to the gold. However, he confirms of his participation. This May Rafael Nadal withdrew himself from the French Open. He declared that previously he felt a wrist problem in Madrid. Before something goes very wrong he pulled up his name. He confirmed to be fit before the Wimbledon. However, the default wrist continued suffering him in the Wimbledon too. Spanish Olympic committee named Nadal as the flag bearer of their country in the Rio Olympics, while the joining of him was a question to his fans. However, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco confirmed his joining the Spanish camp. “His commitment is total and we are sure that he will come to Rio,” he said in a press conference. The Spanish tennis ace also echoed the president. He said, “I am very willing to practice and compete, and skipping Olympics is not in my mind.” In 2008 Beijing Olympics Nadal was the gold medal winner of the men’s singles. However, this time that will not be possible for him, he declares before the games. “In Rio, I won't be the favorite in singles after my injury break,” he said. “In doubles and mixed doubles, it is a different story.” In the singles this time in Olympics the world no.1 Novak Djokovic and defending Olympic champion Andy Murray are favorites. However, playing in the doubles and mixed-doubles will be easier for him. In the doubles he is playing with Marc Lopez, who is the French Open 2016 doubles champion with Feliciano Lopez. The mixed-doubles partner of Nadal is Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza, French Open 2016 champion.
