Indian Hockey Team Reaches Quarter Finals for Rio 2016 Olympics

Internet Desk: Indian Men’s hockey team booked their quarterfinal berth after the previous match. Today, they made a draw against Canada to be third of their group to reach the quarterfinal. Canada, who had already made an exit from the Olympics earned their first point through this draw.

Today Canada team was determined to earn a point. Thus, they tried to attack on to the Indian penalty box. However, no path of goal was opened. The first half remained barren of goals from both the team.
Indian players were trying to play a safer game today to avoid any sort of injury. However, India broke the scoreboard by scoring at the beginning of the second half. They got a penalty which was saved and Akashdeep hit to goal with the rebound ball.

However, the opponents scored the equalizer within the minute through a penalty corner.
In the fourth quarter both the teams further scored. This time, Raghunath – an Indian player, scored first. Then Canada scored within few minutes their second equalizer. With this the game ends and we look forward to another match that can create history.
