Indian Pair Loses to Strong Dutch Pair in Rio 2016
Internet Desk: Indian pair of women shuttlers about to end their Olympic journey with one match in hand. Losing to Netherland, Jwala Gutta and Ashiwini Ponnappa failed to qualify for elimination round.
Today they lost to Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek of Netherland by 2-1.
However, they played better today to win at least one set. At the last, set the Dutch pair crushed hard on them and won the last set.
The Indian pair today gave good fight from the beginning of the match. They lost the 1st set by 16-21. After winning the second set they were leading the third set too. However it ended with 17-21 for the Dutch pair.
They have one more match to play against Thailand women’s doubles pair. However, that match remained only of formality.
