Suman Chakravorty: After an year of disappointment Hero ISL side ATK is all set to have their pre-season back in Spain, the club’s Technical Advisor Sanjoy Sen informed www.xtratime.in today. It is learned that the foreign players and support staff will be travelling directly to Spain from their respective countries.
In an interaction with XtraTime, Sanjoy Sen said, “We are travelling to Spain on 21st August. Initially we though of going to Thailand, but later on, Head Coach Steve Coppell recommended that we should have our preseason in Spain. He had his experience of having the preseason in Thailand with Jamshedpur last season and he felt Spain would be a better option for us.”
Sanjoy Sen also said, “We, the Indians are travelling on 21st and the foreigners will join directly from their respective countries. We will also play some friendlies. We will have 4 weeks of training there before we come back. I am excited.”
Sanjoy also stated, “I want to praise the ISL clubs for this. Preseason on foreign countries provide a lot of learning experiences. Hope the I-League clubs will learn from it someday and change their mindset.”
