Xtra Time Web Desk: Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan played an absolute blinder as he remained not out on 31 from 11 balls to see his team through during Wednesday night’s IPL clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The leg spinner was involved in an unbeaten 59 run stand to pull off an emphatic victory against SRH.

Rashid, during his knock played some breath-taking shots and one among them was his famous snake shot. The Afghanistan cricketer has made quite a name for himself as far as playing innovative and eye-catching strokes in the IPL, Big Bash or T20 Blast.

The leg spinner during his post-match chat with Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya for IPL website, revealed the secret of the snake shot. According to Rashid, “Usko mein snake shot bolta hoon (I call it snake shot). The snakes as you know bite others so my shots sting the opponent bowlers.”

He went on to add, “If the bowlers bowled a fuller length, I had difficulty in finishing them.

My body position doesn’t allow me to finsh the shot. I could not generate enough power. I have worked on the shot and made my wrists stronger.”

Rashid is perfectly playing the role of a finisher for the Titans in the ongoing edition of IPL. A couple of matches ago against Chennai Super Kings, when Rashid had walked in with the bat, Titans had been 87 for 5 in the 13th over with 83 runs away from the 170-run target. He played the perfect supporting act to David Miller, scoring 40 off just 21 balls in a 70-run partnership, which eventually took Titans home.

The Afghan cricketer keeps posting videos of playing innovative shots and asks his fans to name those shots. He had also been seen celebrating his wickets and catches in a unique style waving his hands like a snake.

Rashid Khan is an asset for any teams specially in T20 format. He can play the role of a finisher, bowl his vicious leg spins and a gun fielder. It was no surprise for Rashid when he finished off the match against Sunrisers last night. Because for Rashid Khan, it was just business as usual.
