Rare honour for India skipper Virat Kohli at Trent Bridge

XtraTime Web Desk: Special honour for Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli as he got his name inscript on the Honours Board at Trent Bridge after he reached his 23rd Test ton on 20th August during the third test against England. Kohli who is in supreme form in the test series scored his second ton here. In the first innings Virat missed his ton for just 3 runs, but didn’t do anything wrong in the second innings as he scored 103 runs. Due to his 113 runs partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara India managed to post a huge target of 521 runs to win in front of England. In a video interaction with BCCI, Kohli revealed,”Feels really good to be up on the honours board, especially when your effort is recognised in that way and the team has benefited from it.

“Although these things don’t really matter. It is just part of the tradition of the game. It is a nice touch for any player to recollect all the memories of what they have achieved in the different parts of the world,” Kohli added.

“I’m really proud of that but more importantly as I said, it helped the team to a certain extent and I’m very happy about that,” Kohli remarked.

Bumrah’s brilliant spell with the new ball last night is the reason that India is just a wicket away from winning the third test. His brilliant spell currently read 5 for 85.

Talking his performance, Bumrah said, “You don’t get anything easy. You have to work for it. We work hard. That hard work makes you successful on days like these. The hard work we do away from the camera is what bears results on days like these.”
