PKL: Bengal warriors stay at the bottom losing to Patna Pirates

Kolkata: Bengal Warriors helped Patna Pirates to climb the top of the points table leaving behind Jaipur Pink Panthers. At the same time Bengal got down to the last spot of the table.

Patna being favourite today faced Bengal at their home ground at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata. Prior to this game Patna were at the top of the table having won seven matches among nine. On the other hand Bengal were at the last position with six defeats among nine matches.

At the beginning of the match Bengal were in the lead against Patna taking the advantage of home ground. At the half time Bengal were ahead of Patna by 12-10. But the result could not sustain upto the end.

Pradeep Narwal charged successful raids over Bengal which has a very weak defense. At the same time Patna defended well to conquer the top spot.

Pradeep was chosen the best raider of the match. Best defender of the match was also Fazel Atrachali from Patna. However, it was a  complete team game from the part of the Pirates. The Man of the MAT was awarded to Dharmaraj Cheralathan. Finally they won the match by 33-27.

This win helped the Pirates as they gained three points more than their nearest rivals Jaipur Pink Panthers by playing one match less than the Panthers. With this loss, Bengal Warriors have made themselves difficult to finish at the top four.
