Debasis Sen, Birmingham: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has passed a new rule for the WAGS which will allow them to stay with their better halves for any 14 days after the first 14 days of a tour. The new rule is applicable from the ensuing England tour here. “In the event of 45-day tour, the BCCI did not want a fixed slot for the WAGs. It may or may not suit all of them. So, we’ve decided that the ladies can join their men for any 14 days during the tour after the first two weeks,” said a source in the know of the decision. The wives of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Umesh Yadav, Dinesh Karthik joined their hubbies during the One Day Series in Cardiff. Many wives are already back in India after the ODI series while a few stayed back to holiday with their husbands. Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik who is all set to play the first test match in Edgbaston was seen holidaying with his wife Dipika Pallikal at Copenhagen. Anushka Sharma and Ayesh Mukherjee (wife of Shikhar Dhawan) chose to stay with their better halves in London. In the coming days it is expected few more WAGS will be joining their husbands during the tour.
