Neroca salvage a draw to share points with Aizawl

XtraTime Web Desk: Despite continuous attacking football by the home side, Neroca FC held Aizawl FC to a goalless draw in the I-League on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Mualpui, Aizawl.

Aizawl FC started the game high on confidence and spirit as the home side came close to score their opening goal of the match in the 23rd minute when Alfred attempted a volley from Albert’s corner. Neroca goalkeeper Mauro Boerchio did well to save the goal.

Manuel Retamero Fraile’s Neroca was off to an impressive start in the second half after a poor first half as they showed some serious intent to score the opening goal of the match.

The club from Manipur came close to score on three successive occasions within the first 10 minutes of the second half but failed to convert. Sensing danger Aizawl boss Gift Raikhan introduced Leonce Dodoz in place of Lalrinfela to inject more attacking flair in the team on the upfront.

Though the forwards of both the teams failed to capitalize on the chances they got in the remaining minutes to steal a winner.
