Mohun Bagan snatches this star Minerva footballer ahead of arch-rivals East Bengal

Kolkata: City giant East Bengal faced another blow from their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan as they have completed the signing of Sukhdev Singh from Minerva Punjab Football Club for the upcoming 2018-19 football season. Earlier during their team unavailing process East Bengal claimed that they had roped in Sukhdeb, but finally Mohun Bagan has the last laugh now.

“Previously, we had shared the names of 24 players and intentionally kept the name of Sukhdev under wrap, as he was also under the radar of Kingfisher East Bengal. East Bengal even made an official media release claiming to have acquired his signature, but we kept on pursuing with the player and finally convinced him to sign in our favour,” said Mohun Bagan in a release.

As per the Green and Maroon management, coach Sankarlal Chakraborty had categorically mentioned his name during the course of the team building meeting and requested to sign him for the upcoming season.

Sukhdev was one of the best performers for Minerva Punjab in the recently concluded I-League. With the addition of Sukhdev Singh now the list of 25 players is complete.
