Mohun Bagan releases Diogo Ferriera. What will happen next?

Kolkata: City giants Mohun Bagan have parted away with their Aussie defensive medio Diogo Alexandre Alves Ferreira today. It was in news for long that the Aussie foreigner was facing some problems to get accustomed with the team. The Green & Maroon Brigade even didn’t register him at the IFA at the start of the I-League. He was training hard to be fit to play in the I-League but now it is clear that Bagan team management have lost all their hopes regarding Diogo.

“This is to inform that Mohun Bagan have parted ways with Mr. Diogo Alexandre Alves Ferreira. The player had requested the club to release him from his contractual obligations citing family issues,” said the club in a press-release.

Star Japanese midfielder Yuta Kinowaki would need atleast a month to recover from his shoulder injury and with the Diogo leaving the side the Green & Maroon Brigade only has four foreigners in the squad. Skipper Sony Norde also yet to decide whether he would play against Neroca. This could be a serious cause of concerns for Coach Sanjoy Sen.
