Kolkata: Despite having a nail-biting contest against Aizawl FC, Mohun Bagan again failed to fill the stands on Saturday as the officials have decided to reduce the price of the tickets at its half rate from the next game. When the home matches of Kingfisher East Bengal has been chock-a-block so far in this season at Barasat, Mohun Bagan is hardly getting any support in the ground due to poor attendance. Initially, the Bagan officials told that the price of the tickets will be of Rs.200 and Rs.100 as the club doesn’t have any title sponsor and still managed to build a solid team who kept themselves at the 2nd spot in this season so far matching equal number of points with arch rivals East Bengal, they are also hosting the matches under lights at the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium.

But today, after a hard fought victory, Mohun Bagan officials have decided to reduce the price of the tickets to Rs.50 and Rs.100 from now on. Bagan official, “It’s so unfortunate. We have built a great squad, organising the games at the Rabindra Sarobar so that everyone can come. But still the attendance has been disappointing. We are reducing the price of tickets.”

On the flip side, Asst.Secretary Srinjoy Bose said, “I know many Bagan fans who are doing a lot of rebels on Facebook and have the financial stability to purchase the tickets at the earlier price. But still they are not coming. My words may seem harsh, may be they won’t vote for us in the election, but the truth is a truth”.

Meanwhile, Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen seemed proud in the press conference as he said, “It’s a great time for the Bengal football as the top two sides of the league points table are now from Kolkata and both are on similar points at the moment.” He added, “Today’s match was a tight one for us and it’s good that both the teams will play the derby with equal amount of points in their bags.”

Sanjoy was not happy at all with his team’s performance, “We couldn’t play well today. Still the three points were achieved. I will speak to the players in the training to fix the problems. Aizawl played really well and they proved that they are a good side.”

The Bagan gaffer also mentioned that the fixture of playing both I-League and AFC Cup is not affecting the focus of his side.
