Image Source: FC Pune City[/caption] Internet Desk: The Hero I-League season is about to begin on 7th January and last season's runners up Mohun Bagan is desperate to consolidate their defense with a quality foreign defender. It is learnt that the team management monitored a few defenders in the Hero Indian Super League and short-listed a couple. Though the Bagan think-tank is keeping a regular contact with FC Goa's Brazilian defender Luciano Sobrosa who played reasonably well for Mohun Bagan in the previous season. Among the choices of the Green and Maroon team management, Mumbai City FC's Lucian Goian demanded an impossible amount with other facilities like five star hotel accommodations and luxurious vehicle. But the coach immediately turned down the probability to sign him in such an amount which could affect the team-spirit. The Mohun Bagan officials of late have started negotiating terms with another foreign defender of the Hero Indian Super League. Eduardo Ferreira, FC Pune City's 33 years old Brazilian defender is now the latest target for the Bagan team management. The big central defender though made his international debut in the colours of Equatorial Guinea in 2013. The former Flamengo and Gremio centre back scored a brilliant goal against Atletico De Kolkata as well in the recently concluded season. Mohun Bagan coach Sanjoy Sen told www.xtratime.in,"Yes, the negotiations are on with Eduardo but nothing is finalized as yet. I saw him in the ISL and he is strong and clever. If he agrees to our financial offer, he will sign for us. But if he doesn't, then Luciano Sobrosa will become our foreign defender." Now it is to see whether Eduardo accepts the offer, or it's Luciano again to sign for the Mariners for another season.
