Lionel Messi versus Cristiano Ronaldo showdown on the cards in Saudi Arabia on January 19
Xtra Time Web Desk: Two of the greatest footballers in the contemporary era - Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will be facing each other as Paris Saint Germain will be travelling to Asia to play a friendly match against a combined XI from Al Nassr and Al Hilal. The much-anticipated match will take place on January 19.
Ronaldo, recently signed for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr for a record $214 million for a period of 2 years. Messi is expected to return to PSG on 2nd January after being granted a prolonged break having won the World Cup with Argentina a couple of weeks ago.
The two superstars missed the opportunity to face each other in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar as Portugal was knocked out by Morocco in the quarter finals.
The upcoming friendly match will see the two superstar footballers meet for the first time since Juventus’ 3-0 win over Barcelona in December 2020. Ronaldo scored two penalties that night to help the Bianconeri beat Barca.
