Kerala Blasters and NorthEast United locked level after 90 minutes

XtraTime Web Desk – Even after leading for majority of the time, Kerala Blasters conceded a late goal to lock level against NorthEast united in their 2nd match of the season.

Kibu Vicuna’s Kerala Blasters needed a win after their loss against ATK Mohun Bagan in the inaugural match of this years Indian Super League. Kerala started strongly as Sergio Cidoncha gave Kerala the lead in the 5th minute of the match, courtesy to a brilliant finish from Seityasen Singh’s free-kick. Kerala kept on their attacking football intact and Gary Hopper scored the his first goal for the yellow in the 45th minute. Gary Hooper scored from the penalty.

As Kerala Blasters finished the first half in a dominating way, NorthEast united started playing aggressive football. The result was seen as the Highlanders pulled one back. Kwesi Appiah scored in the 51st minute and brought NorthEast United back into the game. NorthEast United got a golden chance to convert from a penalty in the 66th minute but their hero Kwesi Appiah failed to score from a penalty. NorthEast however was motivated to get at least one point from the match and so did they. Sylla scored in the 90th minute to bring it level for NorthEast. With this, the match ended 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Kerala now has just 1 point after 2 matches while NorthEast collected 4 points from 2 games.
